Yes, we do charge for design work, and it is hourly. That being said, our design packages are based on a specific scope of work. Many times we exceed our budgeted hourly limit without charging additional fees. We have the fixed hourly limit capped for those rare cases when clients continue to revise many times over.
Our hourly design charge rate is $125 per hour, and we never exceed our budgeted scope of work design fee without discussing it with our clients first.
The design process is broken down into three phases: 2D views, 3D renderings, and technical drawings. A week or two after we’re hired, we will have our first 2D design review. These are best over Zoom.
Once we’re happy with the room layout, we move onto 3D renderings. This stage is fun. Here we can test out different cabinetry, flooring, and countertop finishes, so you can envision what your space will ultimately look like.
Finally, typically after the order is submitted to manufacturing, we produce technical drawings. Here we show your contractor exactly where to place in-wall blocking, electrical boxes, plumbing rough-ins, and anything else they’ll need to successfully build your kitchen.
The complete kitchen design phase typically takes 3–8 weeks, depending on project complexity and the speed of client decisions. Larger or more detailed projects may require additional time.
We have many team members and we all support each other’s projects, so we can move quickly. Ultimately, the amount of time that we spend in the design phase depends on how quickly our clients make decisions.
We don’t like to rush you, but we will help you stick to your timeline.
Timelines vary based on the cabinetry collection and level of customization selected. After final design approval, cabinetry enters production.
Our European collections typically require 7–12 weeks for manufacturing, plus 6–8 weeks for shipping. Our North American ARTEZIA Euro-Line offers a more streamlined schedule, averaging 5–7 weeks for production with shorter shipping times.
Once cabinetry arrives, installation is scheduled and generally completed within 1–2 weeks, depending on project scope. For detailed timelines by collection, we invite you to visit our Pricing page.
