It’s happened before, but it’s not common. The manufacturers, shippers, and retailers all have a vested interest in a successful process, so a painstaking process is followed to ensure your order is complete and intact.
If something does go wrong, either during shipping or installation, we rush replacement items through the factory and air ship them to us. This typically takes a few weeks, just like any local custom cabinetry shop.
The global shipping economy is a highly organized affair. We work with professional brokers and shippers so we don’t see major delays.
One thing that can happen is that a container can be flagged by customs for additional inspections. The chances of this happening are less than 5%, and can delay the delivery by one or two weeks.
To account for things like this, it’s best to plan on receiving cabinets a few weeks before you will need them, just to be safe.
Prior to 2025 this wasn’t a question. Hopefully one day we can delete this from our FAQs. The fact is that every importer is dealing with tariffs, even for cabinets made in the USA. This is because the best cabinets use German and Austrian hardware, which are subject to tariffs.
The good news is that we have not raised our prices due to tariffs. The 15% tariffs placed on Europe are being split between us and our European partners, not paid by our clients. As of Spring 2026 we’re seeing light at the end of the tariff tunnel, so we’re hopeful.
